Where You Can Reach It
Setting Up Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Email
Open Settings > Ask Dimedove and select the Workspace tab. It walks you through each surface:- Slack: invite the Dimedove app to a channel and have a Slack workspace admin run
/dimedove add askthere. Direct messages with the app reach Ask Dimedove without any setup. See Slack configuration. - Microsoft Teams: once your Microsoft 365 administrator has installed the Dimedove app, add it to a team and send
@Dimedove add askin the channel. One-on-one chats reach Ask Dimedove without any setup. See Microsoft Teams configuration. - Email: your team gets one address, shown as Your team address. Write to it directly, or forward an address of your own to it. To have replies come from your own address rather than Dimedove’s, verify your domain under Reply from your own domain (DNS verification can take up to 72 hours) and set a Reply address.
Who Can Use It
Outside the dashboard, Ask Dimedove only works for people it can recognize as members of your team. Your teammates are recognized automatically when their Slack or Microsoft 365 profile email matches the address they sign in to Dimedove with, or when they email from that address. Anyone else is held until an admin accepts their account under Settings > Identity. See Identity. By email, anyone else who writes to your team address gets a one-line notice that their request is waiting, and an answer once an admin accepts their account. When Ask Dimedove is copied on a thread, it reads the thread and replies only if it has something useful to add, and it answers the whole thread only when everyone on it is a confirmed member of your team. Its answers never go to anyone outside your team. What You Can Hand Over
- Start a goal: “Follow up with Marie Tremblay about her renewal until she answers.” Ask Dimedove proposes a goal for the contact, with what done looks like, optional completion criteria and deadline, the first step (an email, a text message, a call, a review, or Notify team), when to start, and which agent pursues it.
- Adjust a goal: change a goal’s wording, title, or deadline, move one of its scheduled steps, or cancel a step with a reason.
- Ask one of your agents: “What would our support agent tell a customer asking about refunds?” It answers from that agent’s published configuration and knowledge.
- Run an agent’s tool: have one of your agents run one of its tools, for example to look up or update a CRM record, send an email or text message, or run one of its API or MCP tools.
- Look things up: find contacts, check how your goals are going, and read your integrations, knowledge base, usage, and team members, alongside everything described in the Overview.
Delegating goals requires agent work to be turned on and a default agent to be set in Goals settings, unless you name the agent in your request. Ask Dimedove tells you when either is missing.
Approving What It Does
Nothing that changes anything happens without a person’s approval. Questions and lookups are answered right away, but starting or changing a goal, and running a tool that takes action, are proposed for you to Approve or Reject. These changes apply as soon as they are approved.- In the dashboard, the proposal appears as a card in the conversation.
- In Slack and Microsoft Teams, the card appears in the thread, and the teammate who asked (or an admin) approves it with a single click. If no card appears, approve the proposal from the conversation in your Ask Dimedove history on the dashboard.
- By email, Ask Dimedove replies that the request needs your approval. Open the conversation from your Ask Dimedove history on the dashboard to approve it: replying to the email does not approve it.
